  • FOR MANY PEOPLE SUMMER IS AN IDEAL TIME TO EXERCISE OUTDOORS.  AS SOON AS YOU GET UP IN THE MORNING, HEAD OUR YOUR DOOR FOR A QUICK 20 MINUTE WALK. AS SOON AS YOU GET HOME TAKE ANOTHER 20 MINUTE WALK  (OR LUNCH-TIME). JUST 5 DAYS, TWICE A DAY, IS 200 MINUTES! YES, IT ADDS UP QUICK. BRISK WALKING WITH SOME ARM MOVEMENT WORKS TO TONE MUSCLES  AND STRETCH OUT THE LOWER AND UPPER BODY.
  • IF YOU LIVE IN A HOT CLIMATE YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO GO OUT IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY. DOING YOGA POSES BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR DAILY ACTIVITIES WILL HELP YOU RELAX, INCREASE YOUR ALERTNESS, ELEVATE YOUR HEART RATE SLIGHTLY, AND STRETCH YOUR MUSCLES EFFECTIVELY.

  • REHYDRATE YOUR BODY.  WHILE EXERCISING IN HOT WEATHER, YOUR BODY CAN EASILY LOSE UP TO A QUART OF WATER AN HOUR.  DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER YOUR WORK-OUT.  YOUR BODY CAN ONLY ABSORB 8 OUNCES OF COLD WATER EVERY 20 MINUTES.  KEEP ON DRINKING WATER EVEN AFTER YOU HAVE STOPPED FEELING THIRSTY. STAY AWAY FROM SODA OR ANY DRINK ENDING IN “ADE,” UNLESS YOU ARE AN EXTREME EXERCISER. IF YOU GET BORED WITH DRINKING SO MUCH WATER, DILUTE YOUR FAVORITE COLD BEVERAGE WITH 75 % WATER TO MIX IT UP A BIT.
